What is Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a structured training program where students learn a trade by working side-by-side with professionals in the industry. The work site is your classroom and you are paid while you learn.Apprenticeships provide a hands-on workplace experience that students who attend a normal trade school will never be able to replicate. Upon completing your apprenticeship training you will be rewarded with a certificate of completion in your chosen craft. Our apprenticeship program which is sponsored by the Local Union 72 of Atlanta, Georgia is one of over 300 union training centers across the United States and is affiliated with the United Association, a union that consists of Plumbers, Pipefitters, Welders, and HVACR Service Technicians. This United Association training is recognized across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Ireland.
Apprentices receive instruction in the areas of drafting/general piping, math/science, medical gas certification, backflow certification, oxy-acetylene cutting, brazing, soldering, refrigeration, welding, pneumatic/electric controls, green awareness technology, plumbing code, plumbing service, and building automation.
