The Lost Art of Evacuation
When it comes to evacuation and vacuum in the HVAC industry we may have forgotten more than we know. With the right tools and techniques (from the year 1959) it is possible to perform evacuations up to 90x faster than you may be doing it now. On a new equipment startup can you evacuate a 5 ton coil and a 100' 7/8" x 3/8" lineset in under 10 minutes to 200 microns? Clue one, a bigger pump is definitely not the answer. (1.5 hours)
Advanced Combustion Testing
Not sticking a combustion analyzer is the stack during equipment startup is like not using a voltmeter to verify power is off before sticking your hands in the panel. Sticking one in the stack without knowing You may get away with it for awhile, but eventually you will pay for a bad decision. It's not just about the CO either. A quick tune at the time of installation will make the system last longer and will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars over the equipment lifetime. (1 hour)
measureQuick
Your students are carrying around a $600-1000.00 computer in their pocket. Help them get more out of their cell phone then a like on Facebook. MeasureQuick is the most advanced diagnostic and reporting tool for HVAC and is changing the way that we commission, service and troubleshoot systems. In the time that it takes for a system to stabilize you could have a full view of the performance and complete diagnostics. mQ is also powerful FREE teaching tool that can take a technician from zero to hero in a fraction of the time that it would take using traditional methods of troubleshooting and training. mQ is a true system approach that will give you and your students a digital window to see how the system is running. (1.5-2 hours)
HVACR Program
UA Local 72 has Service Technicians qualified to service any size or type of HVACR system. Our technicians are highly trained to not only repair systems, but to recognize potential failures or maintenance issues before they become a major problem.
The systems we service everyday ranging from central energy plants, large buildings, factories with chillers that produce thousands of tons of cooling, specialized computer rooms, cascade type low temperature systems used in cryogenic facilities or the latest DDC energy management control systems are critical for our clients to better serve their customers.
Local 72 Technicians have had thousands of hours of classroom, on the job and continuing education training. We have the latest and most advanced safety techniques available including OSHA, Arc Flash, Rigging and environmental training related to the handling and use of all types of refrigerants, lubricants and chemicals used in the HVACR industry.
