All persons who qualify for apprenticeship may apply to the institute. To do so, an applicant MUST APPEAR IN PERSON to fill out and submit

  • A completed Apprenticeship APPLICATION FORM #1 (see Contact Us for address and directions)
  • A $40.00 application fee (cash or money order only)

The following items MUST be submitted in ENGLISH at the time of application:

  • Birth Certificate
  • And OFFICIAL/SEALED High School Transcript (NOT a Diploma) showing graduation date, OR your GED Test scores. If you have a 4-year college degree, we will need this transcript in lieu of your high school transcript. NOTE: We cannot accept special education diplomas or certificates of attendance, however, a GED (test results) will be accepted in lieu of a high school transcript.
  • Military separation: Form DD-214 (Veterans only)
  • Results of a successfully passed drug test (Scheduled by MTI). Candidates failing test or failing to appear for the test may not reapply for a period of one year.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Certification of reliable transportation to all locations that are in the Local 72 jurisdictions and at all times to participate in the program (a jurisdiction map will be provided at the time of application).

All documents must be translated into English if the originals are in a foreign language.

Applicants must also successfully complete:

  • A personal interview when notified. Notification will be by CERTIFIED mail. Failure to appear to interview will nullify application
  • An aptitude (ABLE) test administered by the Georgia Department of Labor.
